- The word monsoon derived from the Arabic “mausim”, meaning “seasonal reversal of winds”.
- Some other areas like Mexico, Arizona, Pakistan, Africa, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Bangladesh, Myanmar & Thailand experience summer Monsoon from May to September mostly.
- There are 2 kinds of Monsoon: Summer monsoon (May to September) & Winter monsoon (October to November). Summer Monsoon is severe & has heavy rainfalls.
- India summer Monsoon starts from June to September but not predictable exactly that affect whole of India.
- Development of potholes on Indian roads and streets after the onset of monsoons is a common phenomenon.
